The VL110 is a distinctive chair that immediately draws attention with its organically shaped backrest and elegant curves. Nicknamed the “Eye Chair” due to the characteristic eye-shaped cut-outs in the backrest, its design balances lightness with refined aesthetics, making it a perfect addition to professional settings such as meeting rooms, conference spaces or reception areas.

As part of the Classic series, the VL110 reflects the Danish design movement of the 1950s through its timeless elegance. The chair offers a stylish and comfortable seating experience, reinforcing its relevance in modern professional interiors.

MATERIALS

When only the best will do

The VL110 is crafted from carefully selected materials that combine durability with aesthetic appeal. The organically shaped backrest and seat are made from FSC-certified wood, while the tapered legs are available in either wood or steel and finished in satin chrome, polished chrome, or matt black lacquer.

Upholstery is available in textile or leather from leading Danish suppliers and finished with high-quality foam to ensure an optimal seating experience. Each chair is hand-assembled at our workshop in Aalborg, guaranteeing a finish that meets even the highest standards.

The VL110 offers a unique seating experience with exceptional comfort and optimal back support. The gently reclined seat, rounded top edge and signature eye-shaped cut-outs in the backrest provide support and variation in sitting positions. DESIGN HISTORY

From fibreglass to natural materials

The VL110 was created in 1956 using fibreglass and steel, marking the culmination of several years of work with fibreglass as an innovative material for shaping furniture. A year earlier, Vermund Larsen and Ib Kofod-Larsen had designed Europe’s first fully moulded fibreglass chair, quickly becoming an iconic feature of Copenhagen’s pavement cafés.

In this modern reinterpretation of the VL110, the fibreglass shell has been replaced with natural materials such as wood and leather, adding a new sense of warmth and aesthetic depth, while preserving the chair’s original design language.
