The VL110 Modern is a characterful chair that instantly captures attention with its organically shaped backrest and distinctive eye-shaped cut-outs. It balances lightness and modern aesthetics, making it ideal for professional environments such as meeting rooms, receptions, or creative workspaces.

As part of the Modern series, the VL110 merges iconic 1950s design with contemporary colour options, offering a stylish and comfortable seating experience that meets the demands of today’s professional interiors.

MATERIALS

Iconic design with modern detailing

The VL110 is crafted from carefully selected materials that combine quality with contemporary aesthetics. The organically shaped backrest and seat are made from FSC-certified wood. At the same time, the tapered legs are available in steel with a satin chrome, polished chrome or powder-coated finish in colours that reflect today’s design trends.

Upholstery from leading Danish suppliers is available in textile or leather and is finished with high-quality foam to ensure optimal comfort. Each chair is meticulously hand-assembled at our workshop in Aalborg, guaranteeing a finish that meets the highest visual and functional standards.

ERGONOMIC DESIGN

The VL110 offers a unique seating experience with exceptional comfort and optimal back support. The gently reclined seat, rounded edges and signature eye-shaped cut-outs allow for varied sitting positions, while the organic curves give the chair a modern, dynamic character.

This chair is designed for professional environments where aesthetics and comfort are paramount. With its contemporary design and flexible expression, the VL110 is an ideal choice for spaces that demand functionality and visual impact.

DESIGN HISTORY

From fibreglass to natural materials

The VL110 was created in 1956 in fibreglass and steel as part of Vermund Larsen’s innovative exploration of form. The year before, Larsen and Ib Kofod-Larsen had designed Europe’s first fully moulded fibreglass chair – an iconic feature of Copenhagen’s pavement cafés.

The Modern series brings the VL110 into the present by replacing the fibreglass shell with FSC-certified wood and contemporary materials. This adds a new sense of warmth and aesthetic appeal while preserving the original design language.
